Dear IWC experts, collector mates and IWC enthusiasts,

I'm researching the technical changes and the improvement of IWC Pallweber pocket watches and collect as much data as possible, so I would be grateful for all the information connected to them like any pictures of the back- and dial side of the movements, matching serial numbers of the coplete pocket watches, etc. I would be particularly happy to see more about the Lady's digital pocket watches (with cal. 43.-44.) and the caliber 45 (cylinder escapement)movement.

Thanks for all of your help and support.

    Hi Aron,
A good way to start is to have a look at David Seyffer thesis "Die Unternehmensgeschichte von IWC Schaffhausen" (2014, Athena, Editions Institut l'homme et le temps).

    On vol.2 you'll find chapter 5.1.2.-5.1.6 (pp. 637-683)

    It goes like this:
    5.1.2. Der Streitfall Patent Pallweber
5.1.3. Modelle und Fertigung der IWC-Uhren mit dem System Pallweber
5.1.4. Die Gestaltung der verschiedenen Zifferblätter/Gehäusedekorationen der Pallweber-Uhren
    5.1.5. Die Fertigung der Pallweber-Uhren
5.1.6. Sprungzifferuhren mit dem System Pallweber, Verkaufserfolg oder gescheiterte Innovation?

If you are a non native german speaker (as I am), you'll have to do the effort to translate a bit. But it's worth it!
    Good luck.
    William

    Dear William,

Many thanks for your advice. I'm in contact with David and this time we are looking for details and data that are not known yet. I'm looking for examples of movements in order to be able to determine the techincal solutions evolution as exactly as it is possible. There are some scarce types of the digital movements just like the Pallweber IIIB and the cal.43-44. which is quite difficult to find and I'm focused on them this time.

    Many thanks again.
