Nice catch! It's the second time I see it. It was abou 7 years ago I saw it the last time.

I think that this watch was made to inaugurate the reentry of their competition race.. after a terrible accident. But maybe I'm wrong here.

I did some more research and found out that there are some Mercedes selling Points called Mercedes-Benz Spot in Italy: www.mercedes-benz-spot.it/

They offer also a Mercedes-Benz fashion colletion and other accessories and the watch was made for them to sell in their accessories collection.

Franz, complete with MB badging on the white leather box! Absolutely great addition to your collection.

Using historical Lira rates for the 27th Feb. 1999 that watch cost then at list €2,055- What an amazing investment.

I still don't understand why IWC can't post a list of all the special edition watches at the end of each year. Don't need to know the numbers. Just identify the different permutations and combinations.

WOW Franz, that is the find of the year! Sometimes it really helps to live on the continent when searching for these rare birds.

I'm also in favor of IWC sharing, even after the fact, the distribution of LEs.
