Today I purchased a super watch its a Ref: 1808 in 18k with super beautiful Blue dial.
This is the first 1808 I have seen letb alone in 18k. Searching on the net could not find any! I have been adives only about 500 were made and rare in Blue 18k ??
Some points for discussion.
The serial number 183.... is on the inside case back, there is no Ref: marking
The movement is 189....
How does this 1808 differ from the 866?
Apprreciate any comments...

Congratulations with your "new" Ingenieur. Gold case and blue dial is a great combination! Would love to see a picture. The ref. 1808 and 866 is the same watch. IWC changed the reference scheme in 1971. You can read more about it here in this excellent webpage: Ingenieur models

Congratulations- Fantastic acquisition.
