Hi Forum people! Having proudly just joined the 'club' with my first ever IWC, I've been doing a lot of researching on watch winders and have decided to get one for my brand new treasure.

I've decided to get a swiss-made KUBIK watch-winder for the following reasons:
    - swiss-quality (robust)
    - programmable via usb (useful, although i understand you can't under/over-wind anyways)
    - modular (fingers crossed the collection grows and one can simply add more)
    - quiet & small (able to fit in a safe if required one day)
    - a great display (i won't be wearing my IWC everyday (still nervous) and i think this is a great way on a shelf to be able to admire the watch and see it 'move')

Anyways, I understand there is a IWC branded version of this Kubik watch winder. Which I'm guessing must have been provided by IWC boutiques to purchasers of perpetual calendar watches, or perhaps given as gifts to you senior forum members at previous SIHHs?

I've attached pictures below, does anyone know where I could get my hands on one (that isn't exorbitantly marked up in price by some retailers out there)? I'm assuming a fair retail price is like a new standard Kubik winder - circa £400 / $600?

Thanks for any help/advise out there! Vinh

My advice is save the money on a watch winder and wear the watch every day. Automatic watches are designed to worn all the time.

That been said I wear a swatch when I am doing any sports activity as I would rather damage a $50 watch than a $5 000 one.

You can get them at your local AD. They did go up in price recently though.

Thanks guys. I asked an AD here in London and she just stared at me blankly. I'll have to try some others (as bought my watch while on holiday). As to wearing it everyday... well, some IWCs as you know are several x more than $5000 so... too nervousfor the time being. Vinh

Not every watch fits. My portugieser with the rubber strap is to big. The strap is to big

Hi, new to this forum as i was searching the net re watch winder. My husband has a Mark XVIII pilot watch as well as A Panerai 380 and breitling. Was thinking of getting a watch winder for him as a birthday gift but honestly, am not so fond of watches unlike my husband, thus, have limited knowledge about it.Saw this thread re watch winder and searched for winders and saw a wolf heritage winder. Will this be useful for him? Saw that it turns 900 and can be both directions. I read from a post it should only be 800 turns. Will it ruin the watches? Tnx

Hi Cam, for what it's worth I use a Wolf Roadster with no problems at all and it's fully programmable. The Heritage is module 2.1 instead of 2.7 (like the Roadster) so not sure how much less functionality it has - I suspect it will be fine.

    Good luck,
    Thang

I own several Wolf 2.7 winders, including a large Roadster. They handle larger watches (such as Big Pilots) without any difficulty. I've been very happy with their products and Wolf has been a great company to deal with. (After almost 2 years, one of my winders became somewhat noisy. They replaced the unit with a brand-new one without any hassle). I highly recommend them.
