IWC left to me, please help me identify

I was left an IWC (I think genuine) by my late uncle and love the watch regardless but would like to know what it is period etc. Hopefully someone can help me identify.

I'm not the expert here but this looks like one very famous reference to me (assuming the hour hand is hidden underneath the minute one). I hope the others would confirm...
