Hello.
Just to share a great article about the Mark XVIII.
Now I have to choose between the edition "le petit prince" and the "normal one".
I think the Mark XVIII is a very nice watch. In the article a huge part is spent on the date. I don't mind a date, but here at the Mark XVIII it could be a bit more to the right to look perfect.
I am not sure about the appeal of the watch, and the emotions as explained in the article. Connected to it are the number of Marks sold, I don't know about this. But here at the forum the Mark is not that popular, not many pictures of it are shown. My guess is, that the size of the Mark is too small for most of the forum members, and most here already have a Big Pilot, so why bother to buy an additional Mark.
But I have advised at least one colleague to buy a Mark. He didn't care much about a lot of the things we here find interesting. He wanted a no-nonsense watch of high quality, not too big. And from his point-of-view the Mark XVI was more than expensive enough.
Thus, the Mark XVIII is a great, and great looking watch, but because of the rest of my collection I quite probably will not buy one, and my guess is that this will be true for most of us here.
Kind regards,
Paul
I would say the black one is more versatile but also more faithful to the original "Mark appearance".
However, at the end of the day it's only you that will wear it, hopefully for long time, that can make the right choice.
Good luck!
