    Surfing the Net I saw many different IWC Porsche Design Ocean 500 dials:

    • with "IWC International Watches Co. Schaffhausen" on three lines in Italics at top and "PORSCHE DESIGN" writing at bottom;

    • with "IWC PORSCHE DESIGN" on two lines at top;

    • with "PORSCHE DESIGN" at top and "by IWC" writing at bottom.

    Another thing I noticed are the markers that are available in two version: long (rectangular) and short (almost squared).

    I'd like to know the number of dials spare parts and if they are still available to order: I'd like to switch style...

    Thanks in advance,

    Alessandro.

    Hi Alessandro,
    IWC will not supply or fit any dial different from the one originally supplied with the watch. This ensures that the model and serial numbers of a watch describe the design and components of that watch. The only exception being Superluminova replacing tritium.

    Thank you for the kind reply.

    IWC won't change dials, OK. The bracelets are an exception, right? I see a ref. 3503 with the bracelet+case ref. 3523: is this OK?
    I'd like the old fashioned "International Watches & Co. Schahhhausen" writing but unfortunately the markers of the ocean 500 I'm trading are short.

    According to you, asking for the Superluminova service, may I ask the version with longer markers?

    The Superluminova is added over tritium or the dial is simply changed? Never heard of it.

    The 3503 and 3523 are different models of Ocean 500. 3503 being produced up to 1994 and 3523 in 1995/1996. My PD knowledge is limited but there are other Forumers with a passion for Ocean models so try a forum search using the icon in the top right of your screen if you need more info on the different models.
    The dial is completely replaced when upgrading to Superluminova. You may try specifying the length of the indices on your new dial but I'm pretty sure it will be a direct replacement for the original.
