So, my wife and I spent the weekend in Zurich, where we attended the opera Saturday night and Pokey Lafarge in El Lokal Sunday night. Saturday afternoon was spent shopping. I looked through what seems like hundreds of shop windows.

We stumbled on a tiny shop advertising "vintage watches" so we took a look. My wife saw a window full of Swatch and said "nothing interesting" - but I looked in the next window and said "Oh, yes it is very interesting."

Anyway, he had a mid-size Portofino in red gold, the 34mm model from 2008 or so. It needs a new strap, but it was in excellent condition and the price was good. So she has a new watch. We have a second IWC in the house. She doesn't do wrist shots, and refuses to wear it until I replace the strap, but here's a photo anyway.

I like Portofinos. I "need" one myself.

The opera was ok. Pokey Lafarge was hot. Great show.

The Portofino's have their own classy character. To me, their hands are so special, they almost define the watch, along with the lugs. So, congratulations to your wife for this beauty, also size wise very fitting. As far as the gents are concerned, I am over the moon by the 8 Days Handwound family, maybe an idea for you to check out?

    Kind regards,
    Paul
