IWC PORTUGUESE 5001 - Box & Paperwork

Hi, I'm new to this forum as I'm looking to purchase my first 5001-09. I've found a used one from a dealer, though the box that accompanies the watch is a black leather one. I thought that the 5001 came in a wooden box. Can anyone help whether IWC have changed their packaging or the box that i'm looking at is not the original? Thanks for your help.

Welcome to the forum and the Portuguese auto is a lovely piece. Wear your soon to be watch in good health. Black leather box is correct for my 5001 with IWC logo. Hope this helps.

IWC changed from the wooden box to the black leather version a few years ago. If you are buying from an authorized IWC AD, you will be assured of great treatment and the proper box and papers.

It was a black leather box for me too, for my 500114. Hope this helps.
