Jan Berman, winding this watch takes seven winds to increase the power reserve by 1 day so approx 50 turns will fully wind it. You will find that winding the crown in a clockwise direction only winds it. You should hear a rasping sound when winding it and you can not over wind the watch as it has a clutch mechanism to save any damage happening.

IWC Portuguese Automatic Limited Edition for Taiwan-I read a few comments on this thread about this watch and I am wondering if anyone would have an idea of a price this watch is going for and any advice on where to find one would be extremely helpful. I have looked all over on the internet and cannot find one. If anyone has actually seen this watch, I would greatly appreciate their opinion. From what I gather it has the black numbers and black strap? Thanks in advance for everyones help!

    Hi Lindy,

Because current pricing isn't a forum topic, if you leave your e-mail perhaps someone from Taiwan (or Hong Kong or China who's been there) can help. Or just find boutique there and give them a call.

    Good luck.

My 5001-09 with brown strap gains about 10 seconds per day, so I just set it ahead 30 seconds every three days. A minor inconvienience for such a fine and beautiful timepiece. I will send it back to it's birthplace for a redo if it fails or goes radical, until then I will just enjoy it.

I previously lived in Taiwan (Taipei) for 9 years; the Boutique opened up in the Taipei 101 Building, but I left in 2009 so may have changed, or there may be more.

I bought the Portugeuse Blue Chrono yesterday. It is stunning, and no other watch like it. Wore it with jeans yesterday, and suit tomorrow. Absolutely stunning!

hi all, i like this watch very much and the best part is that i do not know what is IWC at all. Now i know, and i must share with people here, amazing. This watch its dial catch my attention just like that. Clean, easy read out, balance, handsome. I really don't care what brand it is. I only know that the designer must be brilliant.

Or put it on a Santoni strap!!!!

This is just a great watch with great proportions. Certainly not small nor thin, but wears great, also for smaller wrists!

Hi Bob - this might've been asked before, what is the model number of this blue faced Portuguese Auto you have?

I have the 5001-07 myself (white face, blue dial one), but haven't seen the blue faced one, i love it!

Hi, actually this is the white gold 'Ardoise'! Maybe due to sunlight and the antireflective coating it looks blueish, but it isn't!

    Best,

    Bob
