Aha, I thought the difference in color was more due to the photograph vs the type of gold. this makes sense. Now I have to decide which I like better..they are both great.

I agree! A brown strap and the 5001-07 is a lovely combination. Please notice the dark blue stitching.

I want to share the photo with you all but cannot manage to get the photo into this forum.
Can anyone tell me how can I attach photo into this forum?

Simple way is to download your jpeg photo ( ~800 x 600 pixels) to Photobucket. Sign up with them, if you don't have an account...it's free for limited storage. After downloading copy the IMG Code that is linked to your photo and paste that code directly into this message area. Preview your post before posting it to be sure it looks as you expect.

    Hi Orion,
I can understand the fustration. As Nad says, we are playing with mechanical watch. Like it or not, it is part of the fun. If we want super accurate watch, quatz. Or mobile phone.Ricky

Ricky, I am comparing my Port Auto to other Mechanical watches, for instance my Port Chrono, which is not an inhouse movement is actually more accurate then my Port Auto 5001.

Hi Orion, that is true. I find the same with other watches too.
That is why sometime I think in house or not in house movement is not so important.
Design, look, finishing and etc play big role too.
Other than d 7 days power reserved, look and size, I of the think I like about portuguese auto is the name"Portuguese". With is blue whilte combination, It remind me of "freedom" as Portuguese are great seafarer.
Currently it quite difficult for me not to stare at the watch when it's on my wrist.

Wishes everyone on this thread a happy new year.
May you and family be well and happy.
May all be well and happy.

    Well,

I have just received my new 5001-13.

It currently only has one day of "reserve" on the winding. I read the instructions, which state that one can wind the crown in the "0" position. I have been winding it, but can not see any progress on the 7 day power reserve. I am afraid to wind too much. Is this normal? Also, I am windng in one direction.. Is that correct also?

    thanks

    Jb

Jan Berman, winding this watch takes seven winds to increase the power reserve by 1 day so approx 50 turns will fully wind it. You will find that winding the crown in a clockwise direction only winds it. You should hear a rasping sound when winding it and you can not over wind the watch as it has a clutch mechanism to save any damage happening.
