I recently purchased my new iwc and the I want a iwc branded deployment clasp fitted. I've enquired with my local AD regarding price and stuff and they quoted me £325 which I believe is quite steep for something as small as that.
Does anyone have one surplus to their requirement who is willing to sell me one for alot cheaper??

Well, what to say? I guess the production of a deployment clasp may be intricate. It is considered to be better than a pin buckle, so it "should" be more expensive. Furthermore, there is no correlation between size and price, it might even be the other way round. Finally, we are talking luxury goods here: you don't need it, and if you don't want to pay for it, just don't buy it. I am happy with both, slightly favour the pin buckle as it is lighter and in a way simpler. The deployment clasp may be better for the strap, but me being very careful how to handle the strap, not over bending it, have no problems with my straps.

Nandish, welcome to the forum, just to point out forum rules do not permit talking money especially as to what current stock costs as it varies market to market. If you want a deployment buckle then you either buy an IWC or an aftermarket one. You will also need a strap for deployment and original croc straps do cost decent money. Straps for deployment do not have the same length as for pin buckle. Since you are in S.London you will easily find a Portuguese 7 day auto which comes with deployment and you will see there is a marked difference between your strap and the 7 day strap.
I recently bought two IWC deployment clasps -- one for my Spitfire Mark XVI and one for my older Spitfire Chrono. They weren't inexpensive, but they are very nicely made. On watches of the class of IWCs I also prefer OEM straps, etc., to aftermarket furniture.
The original straps work reasonably well for me with the short end at 6 o'clock. I'm pleased overall, although the deployment clasp would probably work even better if the short end were 5mm to 10mm shorter. But when I was ordering the clasps I discussed the matter with my AD, and it didn't appear that deployment specific straps were available from IWC for those Spitfires.
I vacillate between preferring deployments or pin buckles. I also agree with Paul regarding the merits of the pin buckle. And even though the deployment clasp probably is a little easier on straps, I do expect to have to replace straps due to wear anyway.

Yes it is expensive, but worth every penny!
also I think it is better, because the watch can slide of your wrist (happened to my ones), the leather strap wears less out it's better looking.
So spend the extra money.
