    Hi everyone!

The IWC ceramic doppel 3799 has the "Top Gun" insignia on its grade 5 titanium caseback. I was wondering as to whether this insignia is actually under a sapphire crystal?

Thanks in advance for any information....

    Sumit

Not exactly certain what you mean by 'under a crystal' Sumit. The entire case back is made from titanium.

I think Sumit means like with the wood insert in the Cousteau Chrono where the wood is protected by a crystal.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Exactly Clemens! I am under the impression that there is a crystal protecting the Top Gun logo on the titanium caseback of the 3799. So I was wondering whether this crystal is made of synthetic sapphire...

    Thanks!

    Hi Sumit.
The crystal Is sapphire. The logo is actually printed on the underside of it.

    Leo,

Thanks for this info. Something I too was unaware of. By chance, do you or any members have a photo example of the caseback that provides a good look at the crystal covered TG Logo on both models ?

Would enjoy getting a look at them.

    Cheers....Andy
