    Good day,

I was wondering if all Caliber Jones dials have the International Watch Co
    inscription?

I am evaluation a pattern R pocket watch but the dial is plane with no
inscirption havinf roman numerals and Breguet hands. Is it correct?

    Looking forward to the answer.

Not all Jones dials show the inscription "International Watch Comp" (in which
variant so ever). There are some in the field with the name of the jeweller
who sold the watch and some without any signature. Roman numerals and Breguet
    hands are o.k.

    Thank you for your replay.

May I kindly ask you to confirm if for the best of your knowlege this is
applicable to serial number 19xxx as well?

The reson is that the serial number is relatively high which means that this
Jones pattern 'R' is from the period Jones had left Schaffhausen and Seeland
completed unfinished and finished Jones movements.

In my opinion the dial should have as logo "Int Watch Co". (I looked at
    Toelke and King page 76 and 77 ( fig. 54a, 55a).

Can you or any other expert advise if my assumptions are correct?

Most Jones dials show the signature "International Watch Company" (abbreviated
in different variants). But some show no signature at all. Probably the
percentage of sterile dials is higher in the Seeland era as Seeland started to
sell Jones movements in Europe. In non-English-speaking countries an
inscription "International Watch Co." might not be appreciated that much.

Have a look at the book "F.A. Jones His Life, Legacy and Watches" and you will
get an impression, how Jones dials look like.

Thank you for your advise and information.

I have purchase the watch and the book.

In the book there is only one example of dial without inscription which match
exactly the one I have .

It seems to be scarce as the majority are signed dials.

Thank you again for your advise.
