I´m a recent proud owner of a Pilot UTC watch (I have two others IWC too). For personal reasons, I can´t use it everyday, so I wind it manually in the night some days of the week. My question is: Is it possible to make that without damage the movement? I read somewere that automatic watches aren´t able to be manually wind frecuently like non automatic watches. May you clear that point?
Many thanks in advance for your answer.

    Hi,
Because I own a few watches myself, I've often asked myself why not buy a watchwinder to make my life easier. But since I know that It's no problem to let your watch run out, I don't bother anymore!
It's fun to give each watch a bit of extra attention when setting it at the rigth time and date... Although the UTC is a bit complicated (you can not wind it quick (like a chronograph) because of the movement) and yes takes some time.
But do not worry, you can not damage the watch while winding.

Bas, can you explain a little more? I got the impression that our mechanical watches' movement should keep moving in order to keep the lubricant oil from drying out.

Many thanks Bas for your kind answer. Anyway, a watchwinder is in my next future :-)
