This morning, I decided to wear my Mark XVI, and seeing how it was dead and the time was off (I do not have it on a winder, and it is a part of a multi-watch rotation) I gently pulled on the crown to reset the time. Unfortunately, when I did so, the crown and crown spring popped right off!

The watch was purchased from IWC a few years ago and now the warranty is over. Seeing as how this appears to be a somewhat minor repair (in my layman's opinion), would it be better to take it to the only AD in town (which happens to be a Tourneau) or to a local Chicago area watch repair shop where hopefully they can repair the problem in a more cost efficient and timely manner. I hope to have it fixed by June 14th if possible (today is June 3rd), as I had planned on wearing it again the day after. Does anyone have any local watch makers they would recommend in the Chicagoland area?

    Thanks
