IWC is offering the Timezoner only with the brown Santoni leather strap.
The standard metal strap offered for different Pilot models are unsuitable for the timezoner as too narrow in width.
My local ID found a 22 mm Milanese strap offered for the Portofino Handwound that is suitable for the Timezoner. The only issue was that the strap had to be satin-finished by my local AD.
I like the combination, esoecially as I have a narrow wrist and the Milanese strap is less massive to wear than the standard Pilot metal bracelet.

The Milanese strap looks fantastic, not massive at all. The watch looks quite massive though. I wonder how this Milanese strap would look on other Pilot's watches. To me, it would fit the image of a Pilot's watch quite well, it showing some pragmatism of the old, romantic pilots to solve a problem in a cute way.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

    Hello Paul,
Yes I agree that the watch itself is massiv. The mechanism located in the rotating bezel to move the hour marker to adapt to the time zones takes quite a lot of space. This is obvious in the picture when looking at the hight difference between thr dial and the saphire glass. The watch wears top- heavy due to its hight. But quite a lot of the IWC Pilot Watches suffer from that effect, e.g. double- chronos. My "buy decision" for this watch was driven by the new complication and less on "easy to wear".
And what is fabulous is the good readability of the dial. No reflection on the glass at all.
    Regards Urs

    That looks very good
    Can you post more pics?
And how is the sizing of the strap adjusted?

I recently got a Timezoner, and am interested in options for the strap

Are there any rubber straps available that would work the deployant?

That's really awesome! Probably it will go with the Big Pilot too.

Who is the local AD you used? I'd like to suggest this alternative to my local AD.

The Milanese strap with 22 mm width is part of the straps available for the Portofino Handwound and can be found in the IWC dealer catalogue in the Portofino section. Unfortunately the 22 mm Milanese strap is not displayed in the customer catalogue.
The Milanese strap is rather short. Usually I order XS straps to adapt for my narrow wrist, but in the case of the Milanese strap I needed the standard size. So persons with big wrists should order XL size.
Sizing of the strap: On the back of the Milanese strap there is a series of engravings (lines) in the metal sheet where the "teeth" of the clasp are locked in. The size adjustment is done in rather large steps. A micro adjustment does not exist.
