That was interesting. Thanks. Michael

Here is my suggestion: Horological Postcards.
"Moderator articles" works for me, as long as the moderator writes them. Otherwise "Articles" would do.
Kind regards,
Paul
Thanks for all your clever suggestions. I'll talk to IWC and we'll figure out what to do, although any decision might be slightly deferred.
I should add that not all of my articles will be "behind the scenes" ones. For example, the December article will be on one watch, and many experienced collectors will know most about it. That article is really my impressions about what makes it special. Nothing revolutionary nor any inside scoop there, but it might provoke some thoughts.
Thanks again.
Love the articles section Michael.
"Articles" works.
Alternatively, I personally like "Insights".
Keep it short and sweet...
Get the Agency Copywriter to propose multiple options to compare with the crowdsourced options from the forumers. It will be interesting to see who wins.

Dear Michael,
I need your expertise to understand if IWC ever produced a Big Pilot 5004 DLC (diamond like carbon).
I would like to buy a "ised" one. I have the serial number too but according to my research I haven't see and 5004 DLC so far.
Your advise is highly appreciate.
thanks
Hi DBruno,
The answer is "no". IWC has never used DLC coatings.
By the way, next time start a new thread if you have a new topic. Thanks.

Does that ring a bell?
Cheers
Excellent article thank you Michael!!
Looking forward for the next one..
Dear Mr. Friedberg,
very interesting article about the cases. Thanks.
I have a question which I do not know where to start a thread: how can I find something in the archive as there is no "search"-function available.
For exampleÖ: up to when were german weekdays available in a 3713?
I will gladly post a thread in the right place, but where?
Thank you in advance an a happy new yeaar to you.
steamy
Dear Steamy - there is indeed a search function in this forum. Just move your pointer to the magnifying glass icon to the right in the black menu at the top of the page - then the search field will appear.
If you want to start a new thread simply click on "Experiences" in the black menu line, then on "Forum" - then you scroll down to the "Categories" section. Choose which category which will best fit your questions - may I suggest "Movements and Technical Details" - there at the bottom you can click on the "New Discussion" button, and voila - you are on your way :-)
Dear Skule,
thank you for the prompt reply and advice.
Will try it straight away.
Regards steamy
Michael, have you written any articles about 'regulation' I have always wondered how a watch is regulated to 5 or even 6 positions and temperature, if not it would make a very interesting topic for the future. regards AGVG

Love these articles thanks Michael. In my opinion IWC is the only watchmaker that provides such informative articles stimulating debate and loyalty to the brand. Keep it up I'm converted!
+1
Great read, Michael thank you!
Cheers Chris
What about 'The IWC MODERATOR FILES'
I own a little prince. The other day I wanted to time a certain administrative process. I came to the end of the process and pressed STOP on my watch but realized that I would have to wait a while to know the result since the fat hourly hand was blocking the view of the chronograph results. Same thing happens with the minute hand. How can there be such a terrible design flaw in such acclaimed watches? Puzzling. Javier Bonilla, Houston Tx.
Narrow hands would make the time you have to wait for the hour hand to pass over the subdial would be an improvement. Maybe something like this:
If you have a solution to having subdials covered by the hour or minute hands, I would be interested to see it. The alternative is to use a smart phone during those periods when the subdials would be covered.
I just pull out the crown, turn it until the minute and/or hour hand move out of the way, check the chronograph subdial, and then re-set my watch. Works perfectly and the more often I do it, the more accurate my watch becomes;)
That's a great added benefit Ben ;-)
