Since the appearance of Lange's Zeitwerk in the market, I dreamt of a revival of IWC's digital mechanical watch, the Pallweber. Now with the 150th anniversary IWC has realized my dream with the Tribute to Pallweber wristwatch.
My understanding is that the Tribute to Pallweber IWC is more or less a copy of an old pocket watch turned into a wristwatch.
Unfortuantely the design is not my cup of tea, especially the dial seems very "empty" to me. Sorry - personal taste. But as the caliber 98400 is available now I can hope for other designs in the next years.
I personally would like to see a modern Pallweber Design.
I played around with Photoshop and like to present my ideas of such a "modern" design. I created the picture based on a photograph of the Portugieser Regulateur with the date windows of a Portugieser Digital Perpetual Calendar.
I'm wondering whether there are other IWC enthusiasts that might be interested in a modern Pallweber. What would you include in the dial design to make the dial look interesting?
I would start saving immediately for a modern Pallweber with a similar design!
