    Hello to all IWC fans.
    Almost a year ago, i bought myself my first IWC. Since i love the brand for ages and i love the older models, i was going back and forward on deciding on with IWC i want to go first. The question was: Chrono (3719) or classic 3-hand (3548).

    Both are phenomenal but in the end, i got a 3719 witch i love. Very classical model, it ages well and it's very versatile.

    But, few years ago, i was stunned when the vintage (reissue) collection was presented by IWC, particularly the Aquatimer. It's very modern, yet very "vintage - like" (witch i love) and to boost it all up, it has that beautiful in-house movement.

    So since i have a policy "One in - One out", i would sacrifice the 3719 in order to get a Vintage Aquatimer 3231. What do you think? Good or bad call?
    I know it's my decision in the end but an extra advice would be a lot of help.

    BTW, if someone has the 3231 i would appreciate if you could share a one or two about the watch. I'm a little worried about it's size, since it's 44mm, and it lacks a bezel, so i presume it wears i little larger (i own a 44mm Sinn U1 and its a fine size for my wrist).

    Anyway, thank you upfront. Oh, and i will put this pic, borrowed from the net. It should be on this thread :)

    I just picked up a Vintage Collection Aquatimer a couple of weeks ago and I couldn't be happier. It is a beautiful watch and, as you say, strikes a terrific balance between modern and vintage. It is by far my favorite of the AT range, although IWC has released some terrific ones over the years, including your 3719.

    The watch does appear larger than it really is due to the internal bezel. And at 44mm it's not a small watch to begin with. I have a 7" flat wrist and it wears well for me - at least in my eyes. Obviously if you can try one on before you buy that would be ideal, although they're not that easy to come by and finding one locally will likely be difficult.

    I've included a handful of photos of mine, including a comparison shot beside the 42mm 3717.

    I'm sure it would be tough to let go of the 3719, but I don't think you'll be disappointed in the 3231. Best of luck in your decision.

    How about changing the policy to: "One in - Next in - One out (maybe) later" ;-)

    Cheers Chris

    I agree with Chris - I think you need both ;-)

    Thnx guys for your comments

    @Logan
    Thank you for your pictures. I saw them before on that other (british) forum, and the more i look at it, the more i think it's a right choice. Unfortunately i cannot try one out because they are rarer than Yeti's :)

    I bet it's a big watch, and i will feel it on my wrist by all means, witch is a little down side because 3719 fits really well with it's diameter. But as far as i know, lug-to-lug on 3231 is only 50mm, witch is great and it should be very comfortable.

    @Mark and Manorac

    I agree guys, and i know that would be the best way to go. But i think if i get a 3231 i would not wear my 3719 that much often. Or would i? Hmm...maybe it's time to find out :)

    I will measure the lug width and post back here, but 50mm seems about right. The watch is not overly heavy and is very comfortable on the wrist. The rubber strap is one of the best I've worn - soft and supple.

    Tnx Logan.

    The Tropic strap looks phenomenal on 3231. Very vintage-like, but i bet it could also go with a suit.

    I wonder how would ISOFRANE look on it?!
