Here is my first IWC watch in my life, I have chosen IWC yacht club as my first start because it is classic and I like to collect vintage watch.

As I know yacht club with no date is rarer than those with date, the caliber is 854A and model is 1911 (Am I correct??), I am still looking for the SS bracelet to make it complete to the watch. One stupid question to ask is whether can I still order the NOS stock SS band of this model from IWC??

Congrats Luckyowner you ARE definately lucky. I'm not a vintage expert but the Yacht Club is a classic, one that I would love to own myself!

    Regards

Welcome to the Forum from another Yacht Club with a Milanese mesh band.

I've also attached the dealer sheet from 1980 for the Ref 1911.

Congratulations on your first and vintage excellent IWC watch. The Yacht Club (with date) is historically the most popular watch in IWC's history. The ref 1911 without date is relatively rare as you correctly stated. There is also a Yacht Club which is hand wound (calibre 89) withiut date which is even more rare. And of course today we have the modern Portuguese Yacht Club chrono to talk this family into the future.

    Dear Thomas,

Thank you !! I come from Hong Kong. There are so many youngsters like me to collect vintage watch. But obviously they love to collect vintage rolex, tudor, PP. I have some vintage rolex & tudor collection too, but I have turned my new page in this year to look for more IWC vintage in this year when I have read the vintage forum here . There are so many real IWC vintage lovers and experts here!!! Nevertheless, IWC YC is classic and historical and I am lucky enough to acquire more information in relation to vintage IWC.

HK is a small city, but there are so many vintage / 2nd watch shops where concentrating on Central, Tsim Sha Tusi , Mongkok, Cental, Wanchai....etc. Window-shopping on those vintage shop is one of my habit before my marriage.

    Cheers!!

    Hello Luckyowner,

The extract from the archive for my watch states it was sold through IWC regional distributor,Shriro in Hong Kong in 1973. I'd be curious if yours was also sold through Shriro.

    Cheers from the cellar

    CELLAR,

It was interesting to know your YC was sold through HK distributor in 1973. And I would like to tell you I was born in 1973 too!! If I can get your awesome shining blue dial YC, it would be an amazing story!!! haha...!

I am not sure my YC was sold through Shriro because my YC does not have cert and first hand / original invoice.

Meanwhile, I can still have a chance to order the SS bracelet from IWC CO??

    Beautiful watch!

The blue dial YC is on my to buy list as well. My most accurate watch, service to service, has a Cal. 854. I am so often amused by this fact!

Does anyone else have this experience with the 854?
