I have an IWC ladies watch from the 1980's that I need help identifying. I appear to have misplaced the papers. I bought as NOS in Chicago a few years ago and could use an overhaul. I think it is an early . The face measures 23mm, edge to crown 32mm. Picture attached.

    Thanks,
    Eric

    Hi Eric
Your watch resembles Ref 4502 from the SL series of Ingenieur watches.
I'm not sure though, as it does not say Ingenieur on the dial and it has Pilot style dial and hands.

Sadly your history is lost with its papers

This IWC watch was passed down to me and I'd like to get some information on it. Approximately how old it and any other information you may know. Thanks for the help.

It's known as IWC Caliber 89 from mid 50s to early 60s.
A very reliable and solid IWC.
    Possibly Reference 401.

Thanks Mark. I remember once looking at an IWC catalog of watches from the 80's listed by year and caliber that clearly showed the watch but can't recall where I saw that info.

    Found it on:www.moeb.ch/Ingenieur/00e_byReference.html

It is an Ingenieur SL Automatic 4413 with a 320(3201) caliber movement based on F Piguet 951=320, 952= 3201.
