    Hi guys,

I'm new here but have always loved IWC watches. I recently came across the opportunity to purchase one and am having some doubts about it's authenticity. I have no way of inspecting it, unfortunately, but would really like an expert opinion. I'm not even sure this watch ever existed?

    See these photos:

It appears to be a portuguese rattrapante chronograph, based on the picture of the dial but then on the back, it has the "Laureus Sport For Good Foundation & IWC" design.. Also, it only appears to have one stopwatch hand whereas the rattrapante should have two? There are some numbers on the back but I don't know how to look them up or anything.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. The person selling it claims that the original RRP was about 3.2k (tax free at an airport) which seems a little low. He also claims he has the box and reciept but has not managed to get any pictures of it for me yet. Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance,
    Ollie

Thanks dude, I had my (strong) suspicions. I also deduced the following:
    [ul]
[li]The numbers on the back are highly suspect, the top one (3168588) appears to be a serial number of some description but appears all over the net, in conjunction with the (0184/2000), which implies it is number 184 of a 2000 limited edition[/li]
[li]The only "laureus sport for good foundation" IWC I could find was this one which has a completely different design on the rear (and was made in a ltd edition of 1000, not 2000)[/li]
[li]This watch is proudly displayed as a "mediocre replica" on a replica watch site and has an identical (0184/2000) number (maybe they just made a typo? Ha!) and the same serial number on the back, as well as the same design[/li]
    [/ul]

Anyway, I shan't be purchasing this watch, thanks for your help :)
