    Hello all,

I'm Dries and since long time (vintage) watch lover. I have 2 IWC in my possession, a Portofino chronograph and now a vintage R810.

I picked this up with the though to restore the dial, but apprently this seems more difficult than thought.

I know that sometime members here can help me identifying the watch (year and where it came from). I was wondering if anyone would be so kind as to help me with this.

Also, I would like to repair the dial. I went to 2 different shops that offer IWC, but they said they could only repaint the dial and not repair it. My question now is to you.

    Can this dial be saved?
If not, does anyone know where i can source an original (not repainted) 810 dial? I don't think IWC has these ones still in stock...

Thank you for your help gents.

    Greetings

    Dries

Well, your photos show a ref. 2401, not a ref. 810.

But the dial problem is unindependent of refs.

Some dial specialist can refresh old dials.

No idea, which dials are still available in IWC stock ?!

Not too sure you want the dial saving, it's a poor older redial, you could have the watch serviced and make a note of where the dial feet are sited on the rear of the dial (save yourself sourcing a c.89 dial) and then look for one to source (at leisure).

Well, I am not sure that it is really a redial ?!

Because this dial (second photo) looks similar.

Unless its some optical tricks with the surface of the watch glass, the printed text looks very wavy and letters are misaligned...
