Wow, what an amazing story. It was a very special meeting last Friday and the only disadvantage of such a big group of collectors is that one evening isn't enough to talk to everybody. It was a great pleasure to finally meet you and Stephanie.
I'm glad to see Gio's watches end up in the collections of us, collectors and they don't go to strangers.
I am also honored to have one of Gio's watches in my collection now and it's time to write a reveal myself.
Skule: Same here, tears in my eyes when I read Marks reply. We're blessed to have such great friends and friendships through this amazing hobby called 'watch collecting'.
Amazing story, Amazing watch and an amazing post (best of the year!) Thanks for posting Jarrod and I look forward to seeing the watch in person sooner rather than later.
Formers, I've shared this post with Schaffhausen (or rather - brought it to their attention given its actually on "their" Forum - the only watch manufactory to do this for their Colldctors), and the feedback was that they too are touched by this CF1 journey.
Thanks to all for recognizing how special my buddy Giovanni was!
Nelson, ultimately a tragic way to acquire this watch but I am sure Gio is pleased with the end result. It is the ultimate reminder of a special person.
