I'm awed by the new pilot line-up especially with the ceramic offerings!
Still reading thru the specs, but couldnt help notice that the 2 Big Pilots lack a soft-iron cage. Is that true?
I wonder what is the reason behind this if anyone could shed some light.

I'm drooling over the ceramic perpetual big pilot, what an incredible one that is!!

    Cheers,
    Evan

Well, the perpetual version is just like my Bucherer BP. There is no room to fit the soft iron case since the two movements are stacked on top of each other.

Not sure about the ceramic BP. I am sure we will get more details soon.

Thanks Alan and what you're saying about the movement thickness makes sense.
The BPPC is 1mm thicker than the regular BP and thought for a moment that there could be space to fit the cage, but must be mistaken.

Nevertheless, this is one heck of a watch!
Alan, if you could, please kindly take some shots of this one.

I hope that Michael will be able provide some more insight on this later on.

    Cheers,
    Evan

Evan --I checked and the answer is as Alan said --thickness, plain and simple.
