Da Vinci Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month...
For me it's the one watch which on the one hand breaks new ground for IWC with its "windows" treatment of the calendar indications. But on the other hand, it exhudes all the traditional IWC values, the least of which certainly is not the Pellaton winding system. All this coming together in a very attractive tonneau-shaped case. I say it's the hands-on winner.
has it already arrived in your AD
for you to be able to buy it tomorrow morning ?

It has to be the Aquatimer Chrono in red gold
The launch of a new Aquatimer range is a very important step for IWC and this watch will do much to enhance the whole range. Moreover, it looks fantastic.

Big Inge Chrono in SS, IW3784
Hllo everyone,
it's a tough decision to make,I was much debated between the rose gold Aquatimer chrono and the Big Inge Chrono.
At last, since I myself am an electical engineer (Ingegnere, as they say in Italy) I decided for the Inge.
It's a wonderful technical watch, it definitely has a distinctive IWC design,
Moreover the movement is very imnteresting, high tech, and nicely visible in the back of the watch.
In other words: Perfetto!!!
ciao from Vicenza

For me...........
It has to be the new Minute Repeater - now with the traditional layout - its superb.

The Aquatimer Chronograph 3769 in 18k Red Gold
Agree with Richard. RG Aquatimer Chrono.

For me the winner out of the 2009 novelties is ...
... the Galapagos. It is something IWC has never done before and technology with the vulcanised rubber is fascinating. Lastly a complete "black" watch like this one fits the understatement image of IWC perfectly! Definately the Galapagos for me.
Best regards

There was a lot of great watches to choose...
from this year. But my favourite was the Big Pilot’s Watch Edition Antoine de Saint Exupéry.
This may not be the watch that hearkens back to IWC B-UHR, but is a modern tribute to a great authour and pilot. Therefore it is my choice for the IWC watch of the year. Besides that tobacco coloured dial is stunning.

PILOT'S WATCH CHRONO-AUTOMATIC TOP GUN
My dream was Pilot of Fighter.
My dream will come true with IW 378901
No...
just a figure of speech implying that i could reasonably afford it....
But if my AD already had it in stock i would be seriously tempted...
Thanks for clarification.
I'll have to vote for ref. 544504 ...
which is the Portugieser as it should be, pocket watch movement in a slim case with a clean and simple dial, plus a little extra, the white gold case with slate grey or "ardoise" sun-ray patterned dial to make it a modern interpretation of an IWC classic.
I have yet to see more than the photos so cannot say whether the dial will be legible but this looks to be an attractive but not ostentatious watch that is unique to IWC - hitting several important criteria.
The choice was easy because the only other of the watches launched in 2009 (so far) that I like the look of is the Galapagos - dial and bezel look functional and legible like they should for a dive watch - but I cannot bring myself to like the rubber coating, which serves no function.
The da Vinci with both month and date in digital displays appeals for its innovative execution but for me the watch is simply too large and whilst I often like unusual case shapes this is not one of them.
I am hoping for more and better things to come later in the year.

Deep Two;
For me, among all the great new product releases for '09, the Deep Two is worthy of note.
Not only does it follow on from a legend, but it does so in a new visual manner, with respect to the Deep One. The visual language is technical and all information is communicated simply - the radial depth gauge is a great solution. All details are true to IWC values: clarity, innovation, craftsmanship.
More than anything else though, it carries on what IWC does so well: it looks like no other watch of its type - it could only have come from Schaffhausen!
Kind regards,
Andrew
Da Vince Perpetual Calendar Digital Date-Month
It's actually not my favourite of the 2009 collection, nor will I get one, but for me it is the best of them: an innovative date system (even if it is not a true perpetual) with a clever energy conservation mechanism for changing the date/month, great use of the 89000 calibre chrono, and most surprisingly for me, it actually fitted my slim wrist perfectly.
My other nominees were the Galapagos AT, St. Ex BP and the rose gold AT (which is beautiful in the flesh).

Aquatimer Chronograph in red gold
This watch just knocked me out when I touched it last week. Technically perfect with IWC's new inhouse chrono movement it emits such a perfect sort of elegance with a very sportive touch dive proofness included. It's the real "one and only" watch I'd be happy with. Really: If I would be able to get my hands on this watch I would sell anything else for it.
