    Hi,

I just purchased my first IWC (Aquatimer IW3568-05). I have a few questions:

    1) I realize that IWC does not typically certify their movements by COSC standards (e.g. avg, daily rate of -4, +6 sec.). I know that my watch has a customized version of a top grade ETA 2892-A2 (Calibre 30110) built to IWC specifications and was regulated at IWC to a specification. What is IWC's specification for these watches (I know that other calibres will differ)?

    2) What is the recommended service cycle for this watch? (3 years?)

    3) My watch came with a card. How is this used when seeking service?

    Thanks Much,

    Bob

    Hi Bob,

Congrats on the new AT, please post photos!!!!

I'm not an expert on the movements, so I'll let someone else reply to that one.

    2. I've had my GST Auto Chrono since 2002 and it's still keeping the exact time as it did back then, +2 sec/day! My personal credo is to keep the watch as ling as it's running properly. I see no reason to tinker with it. I'll probably send it in for a routine service in 2012, LOL!!!!!!!

Having said that, I think 5 years is acceptable! Three might be a little short, unless the watch is problematic.

    3. As long as the watch falls within the guarantee period and is being sent in for service, you must have or show the card to the AD when sending it in.

    I hope this helps!

That is a great first IWC. Wear it in good health and enjoy every minute with it.

Nad, I did not know you counted a GST Chrono in your collection. I love that watch amongst other becuase it's a nize size/right size for my small wrist. So, mine get alot of wrist time.

    Which of the 3 do you have - The G, S or T :~)

    Cheers

Beautiful watch, Bob. I've had mine about three months now. Still takes my breath away whenever I put it on. I agree with Nad regarding service: wear the piece until it needs service, then send it in. Just my two cents worth. Enjoy.

    Hi!
congrats for your stunning aquatimer... really nice & sportive choice!
As some of our forum mates say, I also think 3 years is too soon for a watch revision... (think aout the guarantee is for 2 years... so you could do it before and for free ;)). As another comment says, the watch can run perfectly... and may only need an oil aplication (that's what happened with my 5 years oldpilot' chrono watch... you realise about that when moving the crown... something goes rough...).
Maybe after 10 yeras should be sended back to Schaffhausen(home sweet home)
to be checked out... But maybe not! why sending if it runs ok???
I have a brand new ingenieur ref 3227 and detected a winding problem. It's on guarantee so no problem to be repaired, easily. I mean if the watch has something strange you will detect it fast!!

So don't worry about it and just enjoy as much as you can your aquatimer!
    regards,
