I seem to be having a problem with the date display on my portofino automatic. It will not click over to the next number and sits between the 2 numbers. I rotated the date setting through the next 31 days and it was ok for a few days maybe a week then sticking again sitting between two dates am I setting my watch up incorrectly. Any suggestions please.

Sorry to say but it needs to go back for a service.

    Probably,
as i think the watch had stopped and may have adjusted it thinking it was the noon phase. I am aware of leaving the watch alone during this period but difficult to tell after it has stopped whether it is say 11am or 11 pm. should have waited till maybe 6 o clock. Surely by adjusting the watch during this period does not mess it up like this! The watch is only 6 months old and only worn as a dress watch then back in its winder.

I think you maybe right, regardless of how it happened, it's not right and does not seem to have righted itself!
The thing is, it is barely 6 months old only worn as a dress watch then lives in its winder!
    Thanks

Hi Billiam - it doesn't matter how old the watch is the movement is the same. There is a good reason why not to change the date - search the forum for the reasons - at prohibited times. It is easy to fix but needs a watchmaker to do it - typically best to send to IWC to get repaired under the warranty.

    Good luck.

    Many thanks,
I will get in touch with IWC in the new year and send it in.
I still think though, that a watch of this quality should not have this kind of problem. Is it common?

Yes - it is common for those who dont read the instructios and change the date in the prohibited times. For those who read the "rules" it never happens ;-)
