I am the second owner of this watch. The original owner purchased it in Dec 2011 and by all accounts very much enjoyed wearing this piece (not a safe queen) for the past 2 years and except for a little shine on the rubber, look as if it walked out of the AD and onto my wrist.

I love the little details on the Galapagos, for example the hands (and applied markers)are black on the edges, but "polished" black in that 99% of the time they look, well, black, but when the light hits them the right way, they shine like polished chrome. Very satisfying to see against the all black case.

The detail on the dial is extraordinary with many depth and elevation changes, the yellow second hand, crisp day/date and radial sub dials.

Yes, the black rubber is the only option, but honestly I can't think anything else would look appropriate, so no issue there.

Super comfortable to wear and overall just exceptional.

Congrats - great pictures. The watch looks in excellent condition. I've had an AT (blue chrono) for a few months now and love it. Do you have other IWC's?

Thank you, icwyates! I am a past owner of a 3717 pilot chrono and have been away from the brand for too long. very happy to be back especially with the AT Galapagos.

Congratulations, that's a great looking watch! Enjoy and wear it in good health. Will you take it diving or at least swimming?

    Kind regards,

Great pic's of a very stealthy looking watch. That AT looks like it's on a mission.

    Congrats...nice choice.

Welcome and great photos, I enjoy it.

I am considering the 354806 but was hold back due to the lack of XS size for AT rubber strap for this particular model. Does this apply to all AT models?

Enjoy your AT and I am sure your 2nd IWC is in the making soon. :-)

    Hi Fleekk,

For the "quick change" AT's, as far as I know there is a XS, Standard, XL available. Regarding the 3548, I'd double check on the XS option. My personal experience with AT rubber XS straps are that they turn out to wear much shorter than a XS leather. If you haven't tried a rubber strap in a XS yet, you might find the standard fits right. The Standard AT rubber was perfect for my slim wrist( 6.75 ).

I have a small wrist too and I am on the last hole for the standard rubber strap. But another concern is that the 3548 comes with only blue rubber strap. Would love to see other alternative beside the steel bracelet.

Ah Ha...now that I know how the Standard rubber fits hole wise, maybe this example will help you. On a Standard AT rubber strap, I end up on the second to the tightest hole. On the XS AT rubber, I end up on the second to the loosest hole. That would be fine, but barely any of the end of the strap comes through the "keeper" even when it's as close to the buckle as possible. Just doesn't look right. Don't have my AT available right now, but I believe there is only one keeper. Just my style, but I prefer some strap length showing past the keeper than none at all. Not sure if this would also happen with you, but wanted to share my experience.

I have no problem passing thru the keeper but there is still plenty of it left after pushing the keeper furthest away from the buckle which I dislike. Thus, if there is a XS size for 3548 would be great. I guess I might need a custom fit strap if I decided pull the shot on this 3548.

Understand. But definetly recheck about availability of a XS for the 3548 just to be on the safe side. Seems recent enough that IWC offered XS option for it. Not the most perfect option, but since it's rubber, the end can always be trimmed and fine sanded somewhat smooth. I have done it on cheaper bands and it worked out OK.

Let us know what the end result turns out to be.

    Best,

    Andy

Thanks again everyone....my wife even likes this one and that never happens. I have been swimming in this one but haven't learned diving yet. I'll have to add that to the list.
