    So what, exactly, is that?

Is that a technical ceramic case for a watch with a modified ETA 2892 movement? I recall Mr. Kern observing some years ago that the cost of a ceramic case would require that it be dedicated to higher cost movements; has that changed?

The mixed historical references get to be quite a melange here. German looking hands on a British inspired dial with the logo of an American movie. Missed the Fuerza Aérea del Perú opportunity, though.

Ironically, I could like that watch IF it didn't have the Over The TopGun logo and the red airplane counterbalance on the seconds hand. If it really is to be made, hopefully there will be a plain version as well as the TopGun one.

    I'll add that I've hoped for…

something like this but with the 80110 movement and without the TopGun bit. Definitely to include the Kohlsman window for the date - I do like that.

NO --it isn't for real (more)

It is a real "rendering" made internally a year or two ago when the Top Gun models were initially designed. There were several such renderings, in different variations. This one was not chosen for production.

The product manager for Pilots Watches is flabbergasted how this old rendering leaked out. But as of right now there are no plans to produce a watch like this. I say "as of right now" only because I'll never rule out a change in plans, but currently no such changes are being considered nor forecast.

    Regards,
    Michael

Excellent - I can still fantasize, then, about…

The 80110 powered UnTopGun version of that watch.

    Nudge, nudge.
