Obtaining a Certificate of Authencity

Has anyone requested a certificate of authenticity from IWC before?

Long story short, I need to get a repair done and since I'm bringing my watch into a boutique and planning to request it to be sent to Schaffhausen, I might as well consider requesting a certificate too.

Any insight from anyone that has requested and received one before? Is there really any need for this or is it just more of a novelty item?

Your guarantee card is your "certificate of authenticity"
One usually requests the certificate when it relates to vintage watches that have no accompanied paperwork, it's history is unknown or it is a rare piece.

It is expensive but not necessary for your modern watch. Good luck with your repair.
