I am not sure why, but I only took one watch for my first visit to Bordeaux. I took lots of photographs; visited one of the most beautiful small towns in France, drove 1460 miles there and back (a ferry strike put paid to plans to take in northern Spain); enjoyed two dinners in a 2 star Michelin restaurant where the chef, Philippe Etchebest is an enthusiast collector of watches but appeared less than impressed with my IWC, tasted dozens of great wines and shipped several cases back home.

A few photos from my holiday. No travelogue this time.

No pics. Sometimes Flickr does not play nice with it. Souds like a stupendous trip.

    Hi Ralph,

Very nice photos, and regarding the Chef, it just comes to prove that to be a great cook doesn't mean that you have great taste (in watches at least).

I'm very envious of all that wine tasting... Love Bordeaux. Being a wine connoisseur you should try (if you didn't yet) some of the reds made at the Cape, here in my neighboring South Africa. A very positive and pleasant surprise.

    Cheers!

Hi Alan, that's strange, I can see them perfectly, as in any other normal post.

That sounds like the perfect holiday Ralph! The pictures work for me and look great! As for the taste in watches from the chef: I fully agree with Jeronimo. I hope that you didn't tip him just so he understands that there is no fussing about when it comes to IWC :-)

    Kind regards,

    Clemens
