A very classy watch!
A very classy watch!
Great post, Ivan...and the pics of a truly beautiful watch are pretty special also!
Ivan. Congratulations. Nice post and photos.
Many congratulations, Ivan! You summed it up beautifully and that is a wonderful piece.
Cheers and enjoy it very much!
I have just seen one today in the boutique. It is a beauty.
I am not sure if it is truly comparable, but I have also seen Vintage Portofino Moonphase with black dial and fell in love.
I am quite undecided what to choose.
Emir,
If it were me, I'd get the Pure Classic it seems to be far more limited that the Vintage Portofino which is very available. But that is just MHO.
Kevin
Thank you, gentlemen, for kind words! It is a pleasure to be here, among like-minded people. I hope I didn't push it over the edge with the sort of elevated language I used :) I guess the watch brings out all the little of poetry that I have in me.
Vishal,
The black PC is gorgeous! I haven't had a chance to see it in real life and I would very much like to compare the two!
Clemens,
The Santoni strap is the best choice! Honestly, I am not a big fan of black straps. Right now I wear mine on a DiModell dark coffee alligator (the lining is orange alligator) and the more I look at Santoni straps photos, the more I am tempted to get one. I just can't decide whether I should wear the watch with the original pin buckle or with an IWC deployant, which I also have. The clasp looks almost as thick as the watch, if not thicker...
I read MF's thread about this watch. In fact, it was about the only place on the web with more factual information regarding the timepiece than was in the press release. I even allowed myself to save the image of the movement to my hard drive. I hope it's ok if I show it here.

CLEPSYDRA,
I couldn't agree with you more about the original cursive.
But I guess it would make the watch ideal and that is dangerous :)
Emir,
I feel your pain, brother! I am desperately looking for some excuse to buy the Vintage Portofino! I just can't right now tell my wife that it's another watch that I absolutely can't live without... I just used that argument two weeks ago :) The right decision would be to buy both!
I will post more pictures soon! And maybe even a little review to sum up everything about the watch in one place.
Ivan,
I also saved the image from the movement! As for the deployant clasp, I guess that the combination of strap and clasp is indeed thicker than the watch!
Kind regards,
Clemens
Dear Kevin,
I always appreciate your 'connoisseur' recommendations and somehow they certainly affect my final decision.
Dear Ivan,
Well, it appears to be only matter of time and priority when it comes to IWC. Best to have both, the question is which one first, brother! :-)
