    Hi all,

Let me start my first post on this forum with a trick question at lest for me ;-)
Would love to hear your thoughts about it.
I currently own a Portuguese Perpetual Calendar Double Moon Phase (ref.
    IW503202) and I love it!
However, the new Portugieser Perpetual Digital Date-Month really got me excited mainly for its digital date display and limited edition status.
Went to an IWC shop last week the watch met my expectations.
The challenge started when I was introduced to the Spitfire Perpetual Digital Data-Month! Also loved it :)
Now my problem is: which one do I choose??
Love the sporty style of the Spitfire but looking ahead the Portugeiser is a limited edition of only 75 pieces, the first family model with digital date-month and may even gain value in a few years.
So I have a feeling if I let it pass there won't be many chances to buy it any time soon given it will be vey hard to find it.
On the other hand, considering the Spitfire is a "normal" edition it could be easily found in the market instead?
    Thoughts?

    Thx in advance!

To me, the Portuguese looks nicer, although the Spitfire is quite spectacular too. If willing to spend the money, I would go for the Portuguese, on this criterion alone.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

If you are concerned with future financial value over current aesthetic value, then go with the Portugieser. If you plan on wearing the watch, you really like the Spitfire and you already have a Portugieser, then it is tough for me to argue against the Pilot. It really comes down to, for me, what you want to do with the watch.

The Portuguese variant is the most attractive in my opinion and the design disguises the size of the the watch. My only criticism of the dial is the addition of the words "DATE" and "MONTH". Less is always more when it comes to Portuguese dial design - except when it comes to the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar.

The digital Date-Month concept works extremely well in the context of the Spitfire - which now comes in steel also, great! Nevertheless, it is completely out of context on the dial of a Portugieser, both aestheticaly and contextualy.

Since you own the great Perpetual Calendar - the best Portuguese there is, in my opinion - definetely go for the Spitfire Perpetual Digital DM

And just forget about the limited edition factor...

    Cheers!

I think the Spitfire is the better choice, more sporty takes the busy dial better, and you already have a gorgious Portuguese PC !

The Spitfire has gained more traction on my decision making after your thoughts ;)2.bp.blogspot.com/-lbGntgTV_yc/TzCq-B8LjfI/AAAAAAAAHiY/sWx0B3El4cw/s1600/spcch.jpg

I wrestled with the same question and ultimately responded to the siren song of the Portugieser Perpetual Digital Date-Month with black dial (which I received this week). I tried them on side-by-side and choosing became much easier for me.

    Buy both ??
Joke aside, i think the digital feature and texted day month on the dial go better with the Spitfire watch. And you already have a gorgious Portugieser watch.
    Good wisdom with your choice.

Of course the decision for Spitfire vs. Portugieser is a personal one. As I was actually waiting for a Portugieser with digital perpetual calendar the choice was done when I sah the first pictures. And the watch has become my grail watch. Wearing this large watch (diameter 45 mm) even on a small wrist is very comfortable due to the new design of the lugs.

Stunning, in one word! This white version is so pure. It would be difficult to choose for me, as I like the black dial version very much too.

    Kind regards,
    Paul

Absolutely stunning, as I've said before. And now I have to add that frankly, l'm a little dissapointed that we haven't been graced with more photos of this rare beauty. I hope to get to see this one in person some day.
