Thanks for this lead David. Well spotted. There's even more to explore, and I cannot wait to see and try on the novelties.

Too much resemblance to the 5454 in my opinion. Usefulness of the date display aside, I actually prefer seeing the "3".

I love the idea of the 8 day power reserve. But I don't see any indicator to show how much PR remains. Have I looked too quickly and missed it?

Hi, seems like...it's on the "Back" picture, on the right hand side next to the Probus Scafusia engraving...

Looks very nice indeed, finally a variation of the movement of the Portofino 8 Days Handwound is to be found in another watch. 62 jewels, that are a lot!

    Kind regards,
    Paul

hmmm...that's of course must be a typo...62 jewels belong to the new model pilot PPC....

I like to idea of hand-wound eight days movement, but I still prefer the look of the old caliber 98000

I really liked this watch; I strongly agree with all previous comments with the look and caliber.

All in all, I feel quite attached the vintage look of the dial, arched edge front glass and silver hands and numbers. It is even better with the new smaller case!

Just tried on this new piece, somehow I find it a plain Jane to me beside the new 8 days PR. But in term of pricing, it is rather affordable.

I like almost everything Portuguese and this one is no exception. The particular variation FLEEKK posted is gorgeous.

8 days with a power reserve indicator where "the sun don't shine". I love it. Is the venerable 5001 redundant?
