I'm really happy you posted this, Jarrod. For some reason the white dial left me a little cool. Somehow, the date window just didn't look right to me. But in black? With matching date wheel? Oh yeah!
I don't know the lug size, but I could sure see the black dial on a brown Santoni!
Jarrod,
Have you tried or seen the silver dial-silver hands-silver numerals mode?
seems like a very nice addition. I like the fact that it's an 8 day movement and that it has a indicator at the back. Any pictures of the back... anyone?
Maybe if you don't like the date window you can change the dial? Only you will hear the click at 24 hours.
For me... n interesting watch!

Thanks for the link.
I'll be interested in buying the SS black dial, but my initial reaction is 10500 CHF=$11600 USD is high, even with 8-day power reserve and the date window. Would be nice if this is revised down just as the Chrono Classic was from the initial announcement to the boutique price. A price below $10k seems right given the Port 7-day.

I saw an online watch store quote 10800 USD as the retail price and offering 18% off this.
Wow, that's a great looking beauty! The diameter of 43 mm will probably fit well on my wrist and at 12 mm high it will probably fit under most shirts too. The black dial would be a great addition to my little Portuguese collection but the CF3 comes first! It looks like it's going to be another great (and expensive IWC filled year!

Hello everyone,
I've been lurking around for quite a long time and after visiting the MunichTime yesterday, I thought it was the time for my first comment in this forum.
Therefore - Hello again!
The main reason for my post is that I had the chance to finger the new Portuguese Hand-Wound Eight Days, and I must say that it wears very comfortably, even though i find it a bit "leight-weight". The overall impression nevertheless is very good, and the movement is stunning.

Still, in comparison to the 5001, I think the 5102 loses, even though I'm not sure why. Maybe the 5102 looks a bit too vintage for its diameter, maybe its the surface feel (the 5001 is really incredible regarding that).
Therefore, for the purpose of comparison, a wrist shot of the 5001:
Best regards
Are there any other changes to the case other than reducing size by 1 mm?
Haven't had the opportunity to compare IRL, but I get a feeling of a slightly thicker rim and hence smaller dial (other than the 1 mm overall size reduction). Is this correct or no?
