    Dear all,

Today I visited my favorite AD and they showed me a very, very nice Portuguese. Unfortunately, I do not have any pictures. It looked more or less like the ref 5454 but thinner and probably slightly smaller. It had a black dial, as in ref 5454, but without subseconds at 6. Actually, there was no seconds hand at all. So steel case, black dial, rose gold feuille hour and minute hand and rose gold arabique numerals (no railtrack). It had a solid caseback, with a secial engraving and stating "one of 500" in stead of xx/500. It features a piguet (based?) movement.

A very elegant and impressive piece indeed. Must admit, very tempting.

Does anyone has some information on this beauty ?

Mark -- just search here for Pure Classic and also Google "IWC Pure Classic". That will tell you all; it's an edition of 500 black dial and 500 white dial watches with a Piaget movement.

Not so old. While it was announced in 2010, due to some production issues the watches have just started hitting the market.

Those indeed, Nad. The black version was available. Just the perfect diameter/thickness. And although the dial may seem too "empty" on the pictures, it looks tunning and clean.
