    Dear All
I am currently looking at purchasing a platinum Portuguese perpetual calendar version 2, that is, the 42.3mm version.

I normally prefer watches with metal bracelets rather than leather straps.

For this reason, I have been trying to find out if there is a metal bracelet that suits this watch.

I noticed that the Grand Complication has a platinum bracelet. The case diameter of the Grand Complication is 42.2mm, which closely approximates the Portuguese.

I was wondering if anyone out there, perhaps our moderator, might be able to answer a couple of questions that I have about this.

    1. Will the bracelet from the Grand Complication fit a 42mm Portuguese perpetual?

    2. How difficult is it to fit the bracelet to the Portuguese?

    3. Can the platinum bracelet for the Grand Complication be purchased separately?

Thank you in advance for any help that you can provide.

    Paul

well, the lug width is the same

    Hi Paul,

The Grande Complication takes a bracelet that is 22mm wide at the lugs, which is the same as the Portuguese perpetual calendar. As such, in theory any 22mm "strap" will fit.

What I've seen in other instances is that the top of the bracelet has a curve that sometimes doesn't follow the curve of the watch head. I don't know if this is the case here, but I would be wary.

The bracelet in theory is available separately, as a special order item. My best suggestion is to see if you can find a dealer who has a Grande Comp with bracelet in stock, or more likely can "borrow" one from the distributor "on memo", and then just see how the bracelet looks next to or on your watch. For very expensive pieces, like Grand Comps, sometimes this is possible for a good dealer with a prospect who's looking for a costly item.

    Regards,
    Michael
