Hi everyone im new to the forums but yet a proud owner of a BP which i love.I need some advice.I wonna take my collection to the next level.Im seriously considering of buying a portuguese perpetual calendar or a da vinci chronograph rose gold.I know there is a significant difference between those two but i really cant decide. Both of them look good on my wrist. Both of them are drop dead gorgeous watches.I like the portuguese for its complexity and heritage but i also like the da vinci for its simplicity and different shape. Also the portuguese is 7k euros more expensive which is quite an issue.Help me out please.

    I would go for

a perpetual. Though the chrono is great, I think the unique system designed by Kurt Klaus is an icon and.. I think the Da Vinci will suit perfect. Maybe you can get your hands on a Kurt Klaus Perp calander... though that one is even more expensive.

    I would go for

This sounds great but the portuguese is already very expensive. I cant afford an even more expensive watch at the moment. The worst part for the kurt klaus perpetual is that i would have to wait a long time before i get one on my hands. The new da vinci digital calendar is the perfect choice for me but its also worth 37k euros....

    Da Vinci Kurt Klaus

I would combine the chrono with the perpetual calendar and search for a Da Vinci Kurt klaus, either in steel or gold. The prize will be either lower (steel version ) or similar to the Portuguese Perpetual.

    Portuguese Perpetual Calendar or

Da Vinci Kurt Klaus in steel would be two great options for you.

Welcome to the forum and I look forward to learning which new piece will join your Big Pilot.

    Portuguese but, which one?

I have the impression people prefer 5021, I like more 5022 also because my wrist is cm 17,75 and 44 mm start to be too big for me, so this is just personal impression.

I'd go for portuguese anyway, the module of the perpetual is part of IWC history - better - of watchmaking history, and bears the seal of living legend Kurt Klaus.

You'll have time to get the chrono later on.

Welcome to this forum and Congratulations for you BP and your next move, whatever it will be.

    Regards,

    Roberto

    Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

I would go for the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar because you will quite likely use the Perpetual Calendar more often than the Chrono. Furthermore the PPC has a power reserve indicator which happens to be very practical because you will never be in doubt whether the watch will survive the night or not. And the power reserve indicator is great fun: how much will it gain today? Finally, but that is a matter of taste, I think that the Portuguese Perpetual Calendar is by far the more beautiful watch when compared to the Da Vinci Chrono. You will never regret having a Portuguese.

    Kind regards,
Paul, wearing ... my Portuguese Perpetual Calendar

    Public attraction

    Hi Pericles,
I own a Portuguese Perpetual and also a DaVinci Kurt Klaus. I noticed that the DaVinci is immediately attracting attention in public, even by people not beeing watch enthusiasts. Although the Portuguese Perpetual is also a big watch, I never received a comment on that watch from someone in public. If you are a person, who does not like to attract attention and prefer a watch with understatement, then you better select the Portuguese. If you are proud to show off your wonderful watch, then the Da Vinci should be your selection.

    Public attraction

Im more of a low profile guy, im proud of my watch collection but to myself.People who are watch enthusiats will immediately recognize and appreciate a PPC.I dont care about the mass people's opinion, only thing that matters is if i like the watch that i wear.

    The PPC for me, but>>>

you should select the one that really pulls at your heart. I love my PPC for its design aesthetics and the pure marvel of the complexity of its movement.
