    Ok, tried again today.

Not perfect, but the blue is quite accurate.

Very nice Rene. I guess together with Paul we are the 3 lucky people in the Netherlands that own this wonderfull watch. Mine is of for service in Amsterdam right now because the moonphase was not shown correct anymore. I really like the combination with the dark blue strap. Makes me think....

By the way: if I look at your picture of dec. 5th I see some moon left although it should show new moon. Maybe your 5021 has the same problem as mine and it might be a good idea to have it serviced.

Anyway, congratulations on a wonderfull and rare IWC watch...

    Rene -

Looks great. I do like the "blued-steel" hands on the Yellow Gold 5021 - when you examine them close in different light - it's a great contrast.

    Hi Norbert,

    Thanks!
I was wondering how the moon phase can be of, If all is mechanically regulated? You might think that’s impossible…! Whats your opinion on the shot from yesterday. There it seems to me, showing the correct moon phase?

    Ardoise,

Acutally I'm supprised anyway by the watch.
The watch reflects the moment of the day. During the day clear and bright. in the evening transforming to a warm and more classic look. Incredible! The blue strap makes the watch more sportive, but never "over the top"

    Hi Rene,

I guess best thing to do is to wait till december 20. The watch should show full moon by then and the two gold moon discs should align exactly. Mine was 4 days off. IWC found some dirt in the movement that has probably caused the problem. Not sure were this dirt came from. I will have to ask them to explain a bit further unless someone here knows the answer..... If you post a picture on the 20th it will be better to tell if everything is OK or not....

    Regards

    Hi Norbert,

Give me a call when you have your watch back. I can lend you my blue strap that I have on my 5001-07 so you can give it a try.

    Kind regards,

So, yesterday the 20th of December I checked the moon phase and guess what, it was off.... Didn't make me very happy, but OK, next maintenance I will take care for it.

Then today while checking the WWW, it came to me that, today, the 21st is actually full moon and if that's the case,………………………………………………..

    i42.photobucket.com/albums/e308/newvectra/IMG_8350.jpg

No problemo with the moon phase.

Now, since I'm totally crazy about this watch, I'd like to share some more of this beauty!!

    Sorry for that........:).

These last images iare upside down and yes, it should be like that. This lomografphy type of taking pictures makes our timepieces look even better. Which is almost impossible!!!

Looks OK indeed and you're correct that today is full moon and not yesterday.
    Thanks for the great pictures!

Fantastic watch and great pictures, sorry to hear about your friends passing on, and what a gift to remind him by. These watches are really something that can be passed on from generation to generation, unlike the other things that we have in this digital age, which are dead in 2 years.

    Thanks,

I must say this watch is growing on me. I can't wait until Friday comes and I can switch from my general watch to the PPC, although I'm really fund on both of them. Borh very special for me, for several reasons. Can you imagine that in a couple of centuries somebody is still actually wearing both of them!!! The thought itself is already incredible. So, I will enjoy both of them until my end has come....

    Hi,

Congrats with your beauty! Just wear it with pleasure.
One thing what happened to me was, that I underestimated the size and especially the height. It made me bump into objects already several times. The case was slightly damaged due to these impacts.
Just for you to know if you’re not used to big watches….
