    Hi
After many years of wanting an IWC, I'm finally pulling the trigger and am about to purchase a 2nd hand Portuguese Rattrapante 3712, stainless with white face and gold hands and numbers. The original owner purchased it in 2004 and claims that he has rarely worn it. He also disclosed that he has never had it serviced. The price seems to be fair based on my research. Should I be concerned about this? If so, what would the appropriate discount be?
    Thank you very much.

You shouldn't be concerned but you should plan on a service. A 10-year old watch needs an oil change. My 3712 is circa 1999 and I've serviced it twice.
IWC can give you a ballpark estimate on the service cost and you can negotiate from there.
The 3712 wasn't made in large numbers so it has maintained its value well and it's a worthy piece with which to start an IWC collection.
Never fear service. It's part of the deal.

    Good luck

    Is it attractive?
Pls include the overhsul service fee for your consideration before purchase.
and no perfer polish as new old stock.
