I own meanwhile a number of IWCs, and am super happy with them. However, I felt there was still something missing in my collection. Is an IWC collection anyway to be be complete without an IWC pocket watch, I was thinking?
On the other hand I am not a PW guy. I love to wear all of my IWCs in turn, and how many occasions would I have to be dressed in a way to wear a pocket watch?
So it needed to be a pocket watch which somehow fits to me. So the research
started. It became quite fast clear that the PW needed to be an RM ... I am italian, working for a company which has its main offices in Turin. Therefore a Rete Mediterranea would be the ideal fit.
With the help (or shall I better say the brute force) of master enabler Mark, I was able to secure this beautiful piece:

What a beautiful piece. It was sold to RM in March 1899. But look at the dial:
That is a beautiful dial, but not the dial it was sold with back in 1899. Can I live with that? Certainly not! So the project continued, now searching the right dial.
And again, who else than Mark would be able to help bringing this project to an happy end? To be honest, I have no clue how he managed, but here it is, the watch in its original status. Project completed.

I am so happy with this beauty.
