    Hello,

Unfortunately, my online search isn't getting me very far, and even the IWC concierge hasn't been able to provide me with any information so far.

    Here's the situation:

The IWC Probus Scafusia folding clasp has the IWC logo on the inside and a laser engraving on the other clasp (photo 1/1)

I've found three dealers offering genuine IWC watches with these folding clasps (photo 2/2), but without the IWC logo on the inside, and the engraving on the second clasp is also different from the one I'm familiar with, or rather, from the one all my IWC clasps have, which I bought directly from IWC without a watch.

I'm attaching two pictures of each so you can see exactly what I mean.

All three dealers confirm the authenticity of the offered folding clasps
without the IWC logo, even in writing.

Is it possible that, like with leather straps, so-called OEM folding clasps without the logo are actually being used?

The logo “probus scafusia” is identical for both.

thank you very much for your help!

I have the "BRO" engraving on mine as well. As well as the IWC engraving normally. I have one in Red Gold that has no IWC engraving as well. So it looks like the one offered but just in Red Gold. For details one would have to ask somebody at IWC who has deep insight into the supply chain.

I've since discovered that there are different engravings, such as "stainless steel" or "BRO".

But the fact that the "IWC Schaffhausen" engraving is missing from an original part in steel is very strange...

The different engravings may be due to different suppliers. Over time, there will exist slight differences in clasps, straps, etc. due to different suppliers used. As long as you purchase from an AD or Boutique, you will be assured that your clasp is genuine.
