Good evening to all!
I hope that I can explain my question with my bad English…
I want to buy one nice Portuguese 3714-01 with movement C. 79240 - one of the early S/N from 1999 (original picture of the movement - picture 1).
But what a surprise- the regulating unit is not the “Triovis” regulating, as in all calibre 792xx (picture 2), but the older IWC “Original Valjoux” regulating, as in calibre 790xx. Example - picture 3 – C. 7906 in Da Vinci.
My question – is it possible, that this different regulating unit is originally mount from IWC in this movement 79240, or it is clear, that the regulating was changed later, for example because of repair?
Seems, that the balance, spring and regulating unit are also original IWC parts and exact the same, as in other earlier original IWC movements 790xx. Are not other, for example standard Valoux 7750 chronometre grade parts.
I thought, that it is possible to find this older regulating in the first, or early S/N of 79240, but saw in one other more earlier S/N 3714-01 with 79240 also the “normal” for C.79240 Triovis regulating.
Hope that somebody will help and advice… Thank you and have a nice evening!
