Please forgive my ignorance, if this sounds like a daft question.
With the above type of watch, either the Da Vinci or Portuguese.
When you move around the different timezones and you require to alter the time. Can you do so without upsetting the calendar.
and which is the best way to do it.
I'm only talking about 8 hours or so difference.
    Many thanks.

    Plus works, minus doesn't (more)

    Hi Tony,

You can manually set the time forward on any of IWC's perpetuals, although I suggest you not set during times somewhat before or after midnight (I suggest plus or minus 3 hours, to be conservative).

You can't set the watch backwards. But you can pull out the crown, stop the watch, and wait for the real world time to catch up to what the watch shows.

Perpetuals aren't optimal travel watches, in my opinion. They work better going east to west, and returning west to east, I believe. That is, you'd want the "catch up" after your return and not on your arrival.

    Regards,
    Michael

...and just to clarify setting the watch backwards

Michael's advise is all accurate. I just want to clarify that you can set the time backwards- just as long as you do not do so within The timeframe Michael suggested... 9:00pm and 2:00am the next morning when the calendar functions are still in "date advance" sequence. So, you could safely change the time from London to New York, provided that you do so before 9:00pm London time. Also, never attempt to set the time backwards across midnight.
