Absolutely briliant collection Antonio - and photographed in surroundings that must be very familiair to at least half of those manificent pieces.

All those navigational instruments: the Bubble Sextant Mark IXA (6B/218), the Astro Compass Mk. II (6A/1174), the Course and Speed calculator Mark IIA (6B/120) and the Navigation Computor MK. IIID (6B/180), are useless without the Mark 11 (6B/346).

I downloaded the Almanac for Stars for 2016 and have been trying to learn how to use this sextant by taking sights from the Sun, from my balcony, so far with mixed results. I'll try other stars and planets later.
I hope to get some proficiency at this soon, and be able to confirm that my home is where it should be. :-)

There are many youtube tutorials on the use of the marine sextant. Even though the bubble sextant looks different from the traditional marine sextant, it is actually more similar than it looks, and the principle is the same. The horizon is replaced by a bubble.

stunning collection and picture! With you on board (as pilot&navigator in one person) I feel very comfortable in coming home safe in right place at the right time!
BTW You know an old German Navy saying about navigation celestial included......good navigation is approaching after all. If you think being in the wrong place secure it via breadcumbs navigation. ;)

You are proficient with the marine sextant, and it would take you less than five minutes to master the bubble sextant, so I would defer celestial navigation to your capable hands.
As a back-system, what about a handheld GPS? :-)
