    Hi,

Please let me know if I am being too critical. I was admiring my St Ex UTC a few days ago, and I noticed that the date is not vertically centered in the date window. This minor flaw doesn't take away from my adoration of the piece, nor does it restrict the legibility of the date.

However, it just isn't perfect, and I suppose that it bothers me a little bit. Is this something that could be easily adjusted? Or, am I just being difficult? You'll notice from the picture that the bottom of the '6' touches the bottom of the date window, and there is a relatively large amount of white space at the top.

I don't consider this to be a service issue, but if this posting is out of line, then please remove accordingly. To be clear, I am a very happy owner of the St Ex - and I can't wait for my Ingenieur to some back!

    By whom? Schaffhausen or AD?

I noticed the same with my Saint Exupéry Chrono, a small misalignment of day and date. I believe the issue was raised at the German forum, where the statement was made that the alignment should be checked for every combination, and that that would be too troublesome. I didn't buy that really but swallowed nonetheless: I thought that such an alignment should be perfect on a perfect watch.

    Kind regards,

    Thx, but

I'll get it taken care of, but my better half still insists that I am being too critical! :)

    Why do you say that?

It is a minor issue, and it really doesn't bother me that much, but alignment should not be too difficult, and expecting it to be right is not that bad, nor too critical in my book for a first class watch.

    Kind regards,

    bad joke

Paul - 'my better half' is a reference to my wife, who was teasing me for spending too much time and attention to the lovely watch.

I agree with you, it seems a shame for a minor flaw to mask to beauty of the watch.

    misallignment

of day and date can arise due to changing the day/date outside the recommended time range. A form search may help.

Whether this is the case for only the Date - I am not so sure - but I think it could be possible.

I would think a Authorized IWC Service Center or

    the factory service center.

I also would think any good watch maker could do it. But, I would only let IWC touch a watch that was mine.
