Hopes dashed.....
I too ordered mine in SS and have been anxiously awaiting it's arrival. Then this happens....
I get a phone call yesterday from my AD that the watch is in, WOO HOO. I cancel all my afternoon appointments and speed (about an hour away) to the AD to claim my precious timepiece. I park four blocks from the store, as its located in a busy downtown area and nearly break in to a jog in typical south Florida summer day (95 degree heat with 90 % humidity) wearing a suit and tie. I round the corner and see the store and head in quickly to find my lovely sales person smiling with the IWC box. (She had seen me coming)
My heart is now pounding after the brisk walk and the high level of excitement when she suddenly says "oh no".
I ask "whats wrong" and she informs me that she made a mistake and didn't realize that the watch she recieved is the WG version and not the SS one I ordered..AAAAAAAAAAAArgh!
What a roller coaster of emotion. I regained my composure and caught my breath and politely asked to see the watch anyway as I had not seen one in person.
Suffice it to say that the watch is even better than I thought. It is beautiful and very well perportioned. I tried it on and knew that I had made a great choice.
I know that the experience was not what I had hoped for and that the whole excercise will be repeated once my watch now comes in, but seeing the watch live and knowing what it will now look like my anticipation is even more than before. For those that have not gone to see one and can do so I truly suggest the trip. I know it will become a highly sought after model
