Survived Sandy with all IWC safe and sound. The eye of the storm passed over our area about 19.00 last night. It's pretty calm, but rainy this morning. We didn't lose power, which normally happens in wind events. Now, I have to go out and check our place for exterior damage now that it's daylight.

    Cheers

Great news, Bill! I hope everything is alright on the outside...and glad you have power. The news reports implied that most of N.J. was blacked out!

Good to hear that Bill. One of my business associates is stranded in New York, his flight home was cancelled and he can't get a flight today either.

    Kind regards,

    Clemens

Great news, Bill. My sister lives in the town next to you, and she too was spared other than lots of tree limbs down.

Glad to hear you and your wonderful collection are all OK.

Came through the storm with little damage and still have power but no cell phone service. Most business are closed as the power is out all around us. Glad to hear that Bill is also safe.

    Adam, everything ok with you?

    Regards,
    Kevin

Bank is closed until when? so I'm very IWC limited at present but in light of the damage all around it is the least of issues.

Great to see so many of our Northeast members checking in and reporting relatively little damage. Based on what I saw on CNN, there was a lot of water on the streets of Manhattan. I hope the boutique managed to stay dry. Speaking of which, who would have thought that the NYC boutique would experience a hurricane before the one in Miami?

I don't know if it made your news David, but there is/was a huge construction crane atop a new 80 story building that was blown over backwards and has been dangling and swaying in the wind, with concerns it could break loose and fall. It is only a few blocks from the IWC Boutique. Of course, ALL transportation in NYC is at a standstill.

Both Kevin and I seem to be okay, but there is major destruction at the New Jersey shore and lower Manhattan. There has been loss of life too. Kevin's family and mine seem to be Okay. My daughter lives in Hoboken, NJ and it is completely out of power and phone service with lots of damage. Subway is flooded.

Glad to hear you guys are OK, Bill. Has anyone heard from Nelson in Virginia?

Much of my family is in various parts of NJ. All are OK, though most without power. Sounds like it could be quite a while for many.

I hope the employees and families of the IWC Boutique are all OK.

Bill, Kevin, Alan (what a wise/timely move - staying one step ahead) Good to hear you and your loved ones are all safe. Just landed back in The Netherlands and heard the news of 12+ deaths in NJ/NYC - and all power south of 39th Street out and extensive flooding! Our thoughts with all those effected and we hope that our good friends at the Boutique are safe and sound too....

    Hang in their friends!

And as Alan said - AT's on the wrist.

Fortunately Giovanni, myself and the rest of the guys with us who were out in Tobago for a weeks SCUBA diving experienced little of this terrible storm and our flights out yesterday via Barbados were not effected!

Talked to our neighbors. My home has no power but no damage to house. Many roads in Philly area blocked by trees and downed power lines. But I think Jersey shore and New York took the worst damage.
In the meantime, Florida here I come loaded with IWCs....

Dick - yes, I did see that. Very frightening scene. That something with so little surface area could be blown about like that speaks to the power of the storm.

One of my wife's aunts lives in Brigantine, NJ which borders Atlantic City to the north and another lives in Margate which borders AC to the south. Both left town before the storm but cannot yet return so we don't know what damage they have sustained. The important thing is that they are safe.

Continued best wishes to those in the affected area.

That's good news that you heard from Nelson, Bill. It looked like Va. got a bunch of the rain.

I just saw a posting from Adam. He is without power, gas and water, and his family and he are currently staying at his mother's place until things get more stabilized.
